David and Cathy called Agewise Design after their architect daughter encouraged them to be proactive.
A previous owner had been enlarged their master bathroom just enough to squeeze a bathtub and separate shower stall into a small space. However, maneuvering among the toilet, tub and shower was challenging. Working from their daughter’s sketch featuring a roll-in shower, Agewise Design successfully achieved a big-feeling, accessible bathroom in a small space. Agewise Design drew and had built custom cabinets for storage. The tall cabinet next to the toilet is designed so it can be moved into the vanity area to create a five-foot radius should either David or Cathy ever need to use a wheel chair.
Being proactive paid off! Agewise Design was finishing their bathroom while David and Cathy were visiting their daughter. On that visit Cathy developed an inner ear infection that caused vertigo, and she came home using a walker. Fortunately, their new bathroom was ready to accommodate her temporary mobility issue.
