Agewise Design renovated Lisa’s kitchen and master bathroom after she moved out of her three-story condominium into a one level home.
We first met Lisa when she was rehabilitating from a muscular disease that made walking challenging and steps practically unmanageable. Our first project was modifying her entry by building low-rise, deep steps, which accommodated her walker, so she could return home. Within a couple of years, Lisa found a one-level home she purchased and she contracted with us to remodel her kitchen and master bathroom. Lisa wanted her kitchen to reflect her taste, to function better for a single person, and be adaptable should her disease flair up again. In her bathroom she wanted to remove the garden tub and build a spacious roll-in shower. Lisa’s bathroom features a comfort height toilet with room for a caregiver if she ever needs assistance; a roll in shower with a fixed shower head and diverter to direct the water to a handheld wand she can use while sitting on her bench. She has a single vanity sink and a make-up area with room underneath for her legs.
